In an observation that would make CJ Summers cringe, Mahkno suggests this could be the Future Kickapoo Creek Bike Trail.

It is, infact, the railroad tracks that travel alongside Kickapoo Creek Road. This photo was taken on Creek Road at the Airport Road turnoff, looking west (towards Farmington Rd.)

It would make for a very scenic bike trail, now wouldn't it?

That whole watershed down there would make a great park. I am not suggesting removing the rails but there is sufficient length along the creek that one could put a trail that would run alongside the railroad. A lot of offroaders use that area, albeit illegally.

There are sections as well that are large enough to put some soccer fields on as well.

I thought the Peoria Park District director, Bonnie Noble, claimed that running a trail alongside active railroad tracks was dangerous?

Of course, if you think it took a long time to get the City's/PJS/Trail Advocate's way on the Kellar Branch, consider how long it would take to do the same for these well-used railroad lines (BNSF on the left and Union Pacific on the right)?
